You will need 4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above also you need to have achieved a Level 1 Diploma in Carpentry and Joinery.

You will learn about basic issues relating to construction including working safely, communication skills and building methods and construction technology to enable you to progress to further training or employment. You will spend a large amount of your time developing your practical skills by completing a range of practical projects in our workshops. You will also have classroom based sessions and computer-based learning resources that you will use to develop your understanding of the too

You will be assessed by the use of practical assessments and assignments that will form a portfolio of your work. You will also complete practical and theory tests at the end of your training course.

Having completed the course, you will be well prepared to progress to the Level 3 Diploma in Site Joinery. You will also be well prepared to move into employment with construction companies including becoming an advanced apprentice. Here, you would work on site for four days per week but continue your learning at College one day a week.
